dryTree films

Kyros Papavassiliou 

Filmmaker and producer Kyros Papavassiliou founded DryTree Films in 2011 to pursue an independent and creative approach to filmmaking.

​

Through DryTree, he directed and produced Impressions of a Drowned Man (Rotterdam IFF – Tiger Competition) and The Sock (Thessaloniki IFF Premiere, Best Director – Cyprus Film Days 2025), and is currently in post production for Yiannis (Cyprus–Greece co-production with Graal Films).

Beyond DryTree, Kyros has directed Embryo Larva Butterfly (Karlovy Vary IFF – Proxima Competition, Film Forward Audience Award – Thessaloniki IFF) and In the Name of the Sparrow (Cannes Film Festival – Official Short Film Competition), establishing himself as one of Cyprus’s most distinctive voices in contemporary European cinema.
